PLEASE NOTE: If you have children or grandchildren between the ages of 12 through 21 and believe my course would be of benefit to them, please send an email to me for a coupon code which will give them FREE access. We just launched it this week and I would like students to review and rate the program. Email me at Brian@BrianHaggerty.com
Those of you who know me personally know that I created an educational program back in 2009 that was based upon manners, speaking skills and the development of one’s own mind. It taught what schools were not teaching and was begun in my hometown of Lyndhurst, NJ, when I was serving as the Commissioner of Public Affairs. Over the years, it grew, evolved and changed names. It wound up in select schools in Broward County, Florida, where it was sponsored by the Miami Marlins, Bank of America and the Broward Educational Foundation.
I absolutely loved teaching it in person. After years and years of doing so, the scripts became tighter, and the performances more engaging. But commuting back and forth to Florida may sound nice to some, but for me, it was tiring. I am not a fan of the heat, as it is. But it truly was the most fulfilling thing I had done in life up to that point. You see, the students loved it! It was equally as popular in Florida as it had been in New Jersey. What’s more? The teachers also loved it. In fact, in Belleville High School, the entire vibe of the school changed. Students, overall, became far more polite, shook their teachers’ hands, held doors for one another and even picked up litter in the hallways.
To make this happen, I had to be the model. I had to embody each and every thing I taught them. The students had to see “why” these traits and behaviors were so important, as well as the effect they have on themselves and others.
I’m attaching some news articles from several years ago for those who wish to learn more about its history. But I will fast forward to today for the sake of brevity. The program had several names over the years before finally settling on the one I think is best. It became CLASS, an acronym for communications, leadership and social skills. Frankly, these are the three key skill sets each and every one of us need in order to achieve at life. None require any special intelligence or advanced degree. On the contrary, these are skills anyone can learn and practice. They are not only simple, but they are also fun.
I said to my business partner several years ago that the future of this program is to bring it online. In this way, more people can be reached. However, I lose the up close and personal contact. I can work around that. But, to make the program the best that it can be, I need students to go through it and to give feedback. I will take the feedback and constantly improve upon the course. You see, I laid out the foundational groundwork in the core lessons of CLASS. In other words, this first group of lessons are the prerequisite to the later, advanced lessons. You need to learn the basics, the principles. Once a student has taken CLASS, he or she will have the basis of understanding the future lessons which I will be offering.
As I stated up front, if you have children or grandchildren, I would very much love for them to enroll for free in order to assess the program. Email me for a coupon code. But it’s not just for teenagers. Adults take it, too, recognizing that these skills are vital in life, yet are not really taught in schools. Some teach a few things to one degree or another, but here is what everyone needs to understand: You can graduate from an Ivy League University, but if you do not know how to speak, or relate to others, the degree will not do you any good!
When Shakespear said in his play, “As you like it”, “All of the world’s a stage, and all of the men and women are merely players”. How we speak, how we carry ourselves and how we treat others will do more for us in life than any high-level intelligence or advanced degree. Anyone can learn these skills. They merely require self-awareness and practice. Once you have learned and practiced these skills, you will have the self-confidence to cause others to assume you are already more intelligent, better educated and successful. Why? Because you will know how to ACT that way. (Here’s a secret; celebrities, politicians, stage actors and CEOs have all learned and practiced these very skills).

You can view all of the course contents when you visit the course page. You’ll even see the same articles I am putting below. I partnered with Edusity.com, an online learning portal. They reached out to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. They are a great group of people. I look forward to growing this course with them as they grow their platform.
